Young Peoples Parliament

The Young Peoples Parliament

GPProjects were responsible for the project management, design and build of the interactive voting and voice reinforcment system. The system was custom designed to meet the clients specific requirements, including the colour of the handsets.

In 2001 the YPP moved into its new home in Millenium Point Birmingham. The specially designed auditorium was specified to include a voting system that allowed every member of the audience to participate fully in the event.

Production Science (London) were heavily involved in the specification of the Millenium Point experience. GPP was subsequently contracted to manage the design and build of the interactive voting system.

The voting system designed provided two main functions at every seat:
1) Interactive Voting
2) Voice Reinforcment
The system allowed the session facilitator, through the touch sensitive tablet in the auditorium to control the voting and displays. The facilitator could also obsereve those audience members wishing to participate and select whose handset was currently routed through to the auditorium sound reinforcment system.
Further the backend system provided live graphical feeds to the auditorium video projectors and webcast servers.

The Auditorium

The system is now in use at almost every event held in the auditorium. The YPP Whats On page shows the current schedule of events.
