GPProjects Touch Interfaces

GPProjects designed the Touch Series of interfaces as a modular system of proximity detectors. The devices can be combined to make a user interface with as many active regions as required. Each active region is an area of an object that a person should be able to interact with. By placing a sensor unit beneath the active area the presence of the person can be detected. The GPP system creates a way of concentrating all the signals from the active areas into a single serial data stream. This means that the sensors could easily be interfaced to a computer or other embedded electronics.

The original design was for an award winning interactive museum exhibit, In the exhibit the visitor interacted with an adaptive audio / visual sequence. To make this possible a number of active areas within the video sequence were created. The visitors actions were then seamlessly linked into the adaptive audio / video sequence to create an interactive experience.

The Touch Series has a number of different models available, however since the system is modular, we can create unique versions very cost effectivley, to order units or discuss custom versions please contact us.

Three different versions are currently available:
1) Touch 1 Interface - e.g. Light Switch / Door Sensor
2) Touch 4 Interface - e.g. Direction Controls
3) Touch 8 Interface - e.g. Menu Interfaces

The "Touch Interface" user guide is available for download and contains further information.
